0 happy is that man indeed
Who does not let the wicked lead,
Nor walks the road that sinners tread,
Nor sits upon the scornful bed.
The Lord's law is his pure delight,
His meditation day and night.
He's like a tall tree upward growing
Beside the streamlet gently flowing,
Yielding fruit as years go by,
Bearing leaves that never die.
In all he does he prospers then,
So different from the wicked men.
Not trees but chaff they do resemble.
So on that day when all assemble
Before the Judgement of the Lord,
When good and bad alike are scored,
Then wicked men shall surely waver,
The righteous man will find God's favour.
For God protects the righteous man;
The wicked are outside his plan.
